About Black Table Co.

Food has always been more than nourishment in the Black community. It is history, resilience, celebration, and connection. From Saturday brunch with friends and family Sunday dinners to holidays and community events, the table has long been a place where stories are shared, traditions are preserved, and generations are brought together.

Yet when it comes to nutrition and health education, the cultural significance of these foods is often overlooked. Too often, traditional foods that hold deep meaning in our communities are labeled as unhealthy without acknowledging their history, nutritional value, or the role they play in our identity.

Black Table Company was created to change that narrative.

Founded on the belief that health should never require leaving culture behind, Black Table Company provides culturally rooted nutrition services designed to support the well-being of people of color. By combining evidence-based nutrition with an understanding of cultural food traditions, the goal is to help individuals and families build healthier relationships with food while honoring the heritage that shaped our tables.

At Black Table Company, nutrition is not about restriction or abandoning the foods we love. It’s about rediscovering the power within our traditions, reimagining familiar meals in ways that support long-term health, and creating space for culturally relevant conversations about wellness.

The vision is simple but powerful: a future where the Black community thrives in health while celebrating the cultural legacy of our food.

Because when we gather around the table, we’re not just sharing a meal—we’re preserving culture, strengthening community, and nourishing the next generation.
